Another earthquake hits northwestern Iran

4.7 magnitude earthquake hits northwestern Iran, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center announced.

The epicenter of the tremors was located 17 km northwest of the city of Khoi, where 175,000 people live. The source lay at a depth of 10 km.

There were no reports of casualties or damage.

A magnitude 5.9 earthquake rocked Iran’s West Azerbaijan Province on January 28. The epicenter was located 23 kilometers southeast from Khoy with a population of 175,000. According to the latest update, three people were killed and at least 973 were injured.
