The director of the Center for Energy, Natural Resources and Geopolitics of the Institute of Analysis of Global Security, Director of International Market Analysis, Ltd., senior expert of the US Atlantic Council, Ariel Cohen, said today that the Armenian people are disappointed about the desperate economic situation of the country, as evidenced by the protests against electricity tariff increases.
"It is obvious that without profound economic reforms and a peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, in the end, protests in Armenia will increase," Cohen noted, drawing attention to the way the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is distracting Armenian citizens from the economic problems and justifying the militarization of the country in their eyes.
