Armen Ashotyan: Baku was my home

The conference "Involvement of the parliaments of the Eastern Partnership countries in promoting gender equality and women's health within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals" was held  in Azerbaijan. The event was jointly organized by the Parliament of the country, the Committee for Social Affairs, Education, Culture and Civil Societies of the Parliamentary Assembly "Euronest", the European Parliament Forum on Population and Development and the UN Office in Azerbaijan.

Today, the head of the Armenian delegation for the PA Euronest, Armen Ashotyan, addressed the conference. He said that the last time he was in Baku just a month before the Karabakh conflict’s outbreak. "Last time I was in Baku in January 1988. Then I was 13 years old. That was a month before the beginning of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, my mother is a Baku resident,” he said.
