The Armenian government approved the strategy of development of the regions of the republic for 2017-2025 at today's meeting.
The strategy was presented by Armenia's Minister of Territorial Administration and Development Davit Lokyan.
The adoption of the project was due to the need to increase the competitiveness of the Armenian regions, News.am reports.
The main goals of the development strategy are to increase employment, develop human capital and increase their competitiveness, the document says.
The authorities count on the possibility of budgetary assistance from the European Union (EU) in the implementation of territorial development programs.
The republic's prime minister Karen Karapetyan stressed that the document should become a working paper for the government.
