Armenia alarmed by Iranian trucks on Upper Lars

Chairman of the Armenian Union of Employers  Gagik Makaryan said yesterday that it would be more difficult for Armenian freight carriers to travel to Russia through Georgia and the Kazbegi / Upper Lars checkpoint after the EAEU free trade agreement with Iran enters into force.

“When the agreement enters into force, Iranian trucks will go along this path. The language barrier and ignorance of customs regulations can complicate the procedure. All these problems can also lead to additional congestion of cars. Therefore, the situation can worsen, perhaps, even today,” Sputnik-Armenia quotes him as saying.
