Armenia carries out military exercises on border with Azerbaijan

The command-staff exercises ‘Lightning-2015’ started today. They are due to end on September 6th. The main aim is to co-ordinate the work of all the state structures of Armenia and increase their readiness in case of hostilities, spokesman for the Armenian Defense Ministry Artsrun Hovhannisyan said. 

He stressed that "the evacuation of the population in the border areas," which the mass media covered today, was an element of the military exercises.
