Armenia confirms 324 new COVID-19 cases

Coronavirus cases in Armenia grew by 324 in the past 24 hours to 160,544, the republic’s Health Ministry reported.

"In the past twenty-four hours, 348 new coronavirus cases were identified. A total of 145,759 patients recovered from the illness," the ministry said in a statement.

Fourteen more coronavirus patients died in hospitals in the past twenty-four hours, bringing the total number of fatalities in the republic to 2,878 over the entire pandemic period, the statement says.

To reveal the COVID-19 cases, 600,306 tests have been carried out in Armenia.

The state of emergency due to the coronavirus pandemic was in force in Armenia for six months - from March 16 to September 11 inclusive. After the parliament passed amendments to the package of relevant laws, the Armenian government introduced quarantine throughout the country for a period of 4 months - until January 11, 2021.
