Russian partners are carrying out a large-scale work to restore Armenia’s railway after the floods, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at the Cabinet meeting.

"I understand that our Russian partners are doing quite extensive work to restore the full operation of the railway," Pashinyan said.

According to the PM, the Armenian government is actively working with international partners toward building new bridges in the flood-ravaged areas.

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said that some international partners are also interested in contributing to the elimination of the aftermath of this natural disaster.

Earlier, the railway tracks have been significantly damaged near the Armenian-Georgian border due to flooding. The South Caucasus Railway company (a subsidiary of Russian Railways) has began to restore the damaged infrastructure.
