Armenia hit by three quakes this morning

Armenia's seismological network recorded the 2.8. magnitude earthquake Monday.

The earthquake hit the Armenia-Georgia border zone at 10:14am local time, 13 kilometers northeast of Bavra village of Armenia’s Shirak Province, and at a depth of 10 kilometers.

The tremor measured magnitude 3 to 4 at the epicenter, according to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia.

The seismic activity was felt in Bavra, Saragyugh, Ghazanchi, and Tavshut villages of Shirak Province.

Earlier, the seismological network of Armenia on Monday recorded two earthquakes at the Armenia-Georgia border zone.

The 3.8 magnitude earthquake struck 15 km northeast of Bavra village on the border with Georgia at 09:10 local time (05:10 GMT) on July 11. Its origin was located at a depth of 10 km and the force of the earthquake was 5 points. The earthquake was felt in Shirak, Lori, Tavush and Aragatsotn regions.

The first 6 point earthquake was recorded about 2 hours before that at 07:36 (03:36 GMT) 14 km to the east from Bavra village. Its magnitude was 4.4. The earthquake was felt in Shirak, Lori, Aragatsotn regions and in the capital Yerevan.
