Armenia's Investigative Committee brings charges against 7 drug dealers

Armenia's Investigative Committee has charged seven people with illegal drug trafficking, the press service of the committee said.

Criminal charges have been brought against three Iranian citizens and four Armenian nationals.

According to preliminary investigation, data were obtained that these illegal drugs were smuggled into Armenia from Iran.

Several people had smuggled these narcotics into Armenia and taken them to a rented apartment in the country. These drugs were then sold to Armenian citizens who, in turn, sold them to others. Two of these Iranian citizens and three of these Armenian nationals have been detained.

Large amounts of narcotics were discovered and confiscated, News.am reported.

The criminal case has been forwarded to the prosecutor’s office to determine its investigative jurisdiction.
