According to the Investigative Committee of Armenia, the former Karabakh separatist “ex-mayor” of Khankendi, David Sargsyan, was detained in the republic. Earlier, representatives of the Investigative Committee came to two other former mayors with searches.

Armenian security forces detained a former Karabakh separatist who was serving as the so-called “ex-mayor” of Khankendi.

Earlier, representatives of the Investigative Committee came to two other former mayors of Karabakh cities.

“David Sargsyan was detained in Armenia. Previously, searches were carried out in his apartment. He is accused of grand theft as well as fraud and forgery of documents,”

- the Armenian Investigative Committee reported.

According to representatives of the Armenian opposition, the searches are related to upcoming rallies, the participants of which are demanding the impeachment of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
