Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan held a telephone conversation with U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Karen Donfried on Sunday, the Armenian Foreign Ministry said.
Mirzoyan and Donfried were said to have discussed a number of issues related to regional security and stability.
Mirzoyan presented the latest developments in the normalization process between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The sides touched upon the unblocking of regional transport infrastructures and economic ties, and the work of the commissions on delimitation and border security between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
The sides exchanged also views on the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan in Tbilisi, which was organized by the Georgian side on July 16. Mirzoyan stressed that the Armenian side continues to attach importance to the role of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs in the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process.
