Vice-Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Hermine Naghdalyan has recognized the illegality of the occupation of the Azerbaijani territories by Armenian forces.
In an interview with correspondents she stated that Armenia has no rights to occupy territories adjacent to Nagorno Karabakh regions of Azerbaijan. "As soon as the world recognizes Karabakh we will return the lands, as we have no such a right. We don’t need the lands. It’s just our buffer zone, the guarantor of our safety,’’ Arminfo cites her as saying.
This statement violates the norms of the international law because it contains a call for the violation of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan by means of the estrangement belonging to him by right of Nagorno-Karabakh.
However, even such a ‘concession' as a recognition of the illegality of the retention of the part of the territory of Azerbaijan caused indignation among supporters of the occupation and the aggressive policy of Yerevan who accused Hermine Naghdalyan of "defeatism".
