Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II has traveled to Paris to attend the commemoration and funeral ceremonies for the late French-Armenian singer Charles Aznavour.
In addition, requiem services for the legendary singer will be offered on October 6 at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and the diocesan seat churches of the dioceses of the Armenian Church, News.am reported.
Earlier, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan signed a a decree declaring October 6, the funeral day of Armenia’s National Hero Charles Aznavour day of mourning in Armenia.
Aznavour passed away on October 1 at the age of 94 at one of his homes, in the village of Mouries, north of Marseille.
