Armenia's Public Service Regulatory Commission decided to fine Veolia Jur, a subsidiary of France’s Veolia Generale des Eaux that is the sole water distributor in Armenia, the regulator reports. The company has to pay $20,600.
Veolia Jur has failed to connect customers to the water supply system in due time in a clear breach of the law, ARKA reported.
The company responded that these connection delays were due to illegal connections to the water-supplying systems and the necessity of additional examination. The company can dispute the regulator’s decision within two months.
