The International Military-Technical Forum ‘Army 2016’ has finished in Moscow. A key feature of the last day of the forum was a military-tactical game, upgrading to the Day of Tank Drivers and the performance of motorcyclists.
"We are completing the forum on a high note – we held an open cup of the DOSAAF Russian motorcycling sport, airsoft competitions, a military and historical reconstruction of the Yelnya offensive of 1941, which became one of the first offensive operations of the Red Army in the Great Patriotic War," the press center of the forum reported.
The reconstruction of the battle gathered more than 15 thousand spectators.
The forum resulted in the Russian Defense Ministry receiving more than 14.5 million rubles in the course of auctions for the sale of the property released, the press center of the forum reported.
"A total of 132 units of automotive and special equipment, clothing and equipment were exposed: jackets, trousers, caps, tunics amounting to nearly 65 thousand items,’’ Interfax quotes a representative of the press center.
"In the course of the auction, property in excess of 14.5 million rubles was sold, which exceeded the expected amount of more than 4.3 million rubles," the source added.
He said that traditionally there was a strong demand for ZIL and GAZ army trucks, cotton padded jackets, tarpaulin boots and ceremonial officer's shoes. ‘’The evaluation of the property shown was conducted by an independent appraiser. The price of many items were attractive to customers. So a selection of 400 pairs of tarpaulin boots was shown for 7.5 thousand rubles, and was sold for 150 thousand rubles as a result of hot trading,’’ the representative of the press center reported.
In general, 250 items of military equipment were demonstrated during the five days of the forum, the head of the main research activities of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Alexander Mironov, said.
‘’The display conditions were as realistic as possible, 247 items of equipment were presented in total on the territory of Alabino polygon,’’ he explained.
"Over the past five days, the total duration of the demonstration program at the Alabino site was nearly 17 hours, the activities carried out at Kubinka Airport during eight and a half hours, were fully implemented,’’ Mironov said.
He added that the entire infrastructure of the landfills was involved in the shows.
