Baku is holding the individual apparatus finals in artistic gymnastics of the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games. The men's floor exercise, men's ring, men's parallel bars, as well as women's vault and women's uneven bars finals will be held in the first half of the day. The men's vault, men's pommel horse, men's horizontal bar, as well as women's balance beam and women's floor exercise will start at 16:30 (MSK).
Azerbaijan will be represented by Murad Agharzayev, Bence Talas and Timur Bairamov in men’s competitions and by Marina Nekrasova, Yulia Inshina and Ekaterina Tishkova in women’s competitions.
The athlete of the Azerbaijani national team Bence Talas, who scored 14.15 points in the qualification, advanced to the finals with the best result. His compatriot Murad Agarzayev came fifth with a score of 12.8 points.
The Azerbaijani gymnast Bence Talas came second in men's pommel horse exercises with 14.1 points. Murad Agarzayev came third with 13.85 points.
In the vault Murad Agarzayev came eighth with 12.35 points.
Azerbaijani athlete Murad Agarzayev became the best men's floor exercise, he scored 14.5 points. The Turkish gymnast Ferhat Arican with 13.2 points came second, a member of the national team of Qatar Ahmed Aldyani came third with 13.15 points.
In men's ring exercises, the Turkish athlete Ibrahim Colak came first in the qualification round with 15.05 points, the Azerbaijani gymnast Bence Talas came second with 14.7 points. Hadi Khanarinejad from Iran came third with 14.05 points.
In men's parallel bars exercises, the Turkish gymnast Ferhat Arican came first with 14.25 points. Another Turkish athlete Ibrahim Colak came second with 14.05 points. Timur Bayramov from Azerbaijan came third with 13.3 points.
In the women's balance beam exercises the Azerbaijani athlete Marina Nekrasova came first in the qualification round with 12.6 points. Her team-mate Julia Inshina came fifth with 11.15 points.
Azerbaijan's Julia Inshina came second in women's floor exercise with 12.8 points, Ekaterina Tishkova came seventh with 11.9 points.
Azerbaijani gymnast Yulia Inshina came first in the women's uneven bars qualification round with 12.25 points. Ekaterina Tishkova came third with a score of 11.6 points, and Marina Nekrasova came fifth with 10.5 points. Marina Nekrasova came second in women's vault with 13.8 points and Julia Inshina came third with 13 points.
Uzbek gymnast Oksana Chusovitina came first in women's vault in the qualification round with 13.825 points.
The 4th Islamic Solidarity Games are held in Baku from May 8 to 22. Athletes will compete at 16 sports facilities in 20 types of sports - 17 Olympic and three non-Olympic ones. Competitions in artistic and rhythmic gymnastics were included in the program of Islamic Solidarity Games for the first time at the initiative of the First Vice President of Azerbaijan, President of the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation, Mehriban Aliyeva.
