A UK delegation led by Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Tobias Ellwood, has arrived in Ashgabat, the Turkmen government said.
The sides discussed the possibilities of expanding cooperation in a number of spheres such as energy, civil aviation, sports and tourism. They also discussed cooperation in ensuring human rights and freedoms. The sides emphasized the fruitful activities of the Turkmenistan-UK Trade & Industry Council (TUKTIC), Trend reports.
Such UK companies as Dragon Oil, Burren Energy, Gaffney, Cline & Associates and De La Rue operate in Turkmenistan. The UK regards Ashgabat as one of the key players in the international energy sphere.
