On September 17, 2016 in Ashgabat, Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov participated in the solemn ceremony of the inauguration of the complex of the new International Airport, designed to become the main "air gates" of Turkmenistan, Trend reports.
The opening ceremony was attended by the representatives of a number of international and regional organizations such as the International Air Transport Association, the Interstate Aviation Committee, the International Road Transport Union, and the International Organization for Migration, the Olympic Council of Asia, Oceania National Olympic Committees and others.
Also the leaders and representatives of the airlines and aeronautical services from about 25 countries participated at the opening ceremony.
The new airport will be able to take aircraft of any type and capacity, while ensuring that international standards of service. The capacity of the ultra-modern air harbor will be 2,000 passengers per hour.
