Ali Asadov is the fittest candidacy for a post of Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, an experienced economist and policy maker, who is able to execute a plan for the republic's economic renovation, Milli Majlis deputy Asim Mollazade, speaking with a correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza, said after Azerbaijani MPs approved the appointment of Ali Asadov as Prime Minister.
"Mr. Asadov is an experienced economist who has worked for many years in the public administration system on economic issues. I think that President Ilham Aliyev made an absolutely good choice: as Prime Minister, Ali Asadov will be able to carry out major economic reforms in Azerbaijan," Asim Mollazade emphasized.
"I appreciate his competence very much: he is a professional economist, he worked on reforms both in the fields of energy and economic diversification," the MP added.
Asim Mollazade also expressed hope that personnel reforms in Azerbaijan will continue. "I would like young or sufficiently professional personnel to replace those who do not fully cope with their duties," he said.
The appointment of Assistant to the President for Economic Issues Ali Asadov as Prime Minister of Azerbaijan has been included in the agenda of the Azerbaijani Parliament's meeting today and was approved by all 105 MPs. It was also announced that former PM Novruz Mammadov resigned.
