Syria is too small for the introduction of federalization, Syrian President Bashar Assad stated at a meeting with a delegation of French politicians in Damascus.
"Assad stressed that Syria is a small country and it is too small for the implementation of the federalization idea, given the fact that all communities are closely connected and intertwined with each other," the politician Nicolas Dyuik noted after meeting with the Syrian president.
In addition, Bashar Assad pointed out that the proposal of Kurds to introduce federalization is a bad idea. According to him, the central government should play the main role in Syria, although some areas may receive more autonomy.
