In many respects, the successes of Syrian troops in the fight against terrorists are due to the help provided by Russia and Iran, Syrian President Bashar Assad stated in an interview with El Pais.
"The help of Russia and Iran was necessary for our army for this breakthrough [in the fight against terrorists in Syria]. We certainly need this assistance, since the terrorists are supported by about 80 countries in different ways. We need help in this situation," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
