Assad: West and Turkey supplying terrorists with weapons and money

The Western countries and Turkey are supporting al-Nusra and IS by providing them with arms, money and terrorist volunteers, Syrian President Bashar Assad said in an interview with Russian media.

According to him, Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Ahmet Davutoglu "cannot make a single move without coordinating first with the United States and other Western countries."

The Syrian President connects the growth of the power of Islamic State and al-Nusra with the patronage of the West, which believes that "terrorism is a card they can pull from their pocket."

Assad said that Damascus cooperates with Russia, Iran and Iraq in the fight against terrorism, adding that Syria is open to cooperation with any state. However, the president does not see any serious desire to fight terrorism "in the case of the so-called international coalition." The reality is that, despite the fact that this coalition started to operate, ISIS has been expanding, Interfax reports.
