General Ali Mahmoud Abbas became the new Syrian Defense Minister. This is stated in the Syrian leader's office.
"President Assad issued Decree 115 on the appointment of Major General Ali Mahmoud Abbas as Minister of Defense", TASS quoted the office.
Previously, Ali Abdullah Ayoub held the post of Minister of Defense of Syria.
