Syrian President Bashar Assad, during a meeting today with a delegation of Russian parliamentarians, praised the effectiveness of air strikes of Aerospace Forces of the Russian Federation on the positions of terrorists in the country, a participant in the meeting, member of the Federation Council Dmitry Sablin reported.
According to the senator, the president admitted that he assumed that the actions of the Russian aviation would be successful, but neither the Syrian authorities, "nor the Americans could expect that it (Russian aviation) would work so efficiently."
"He gave an example where one bridge could not be destroyed for more than a year, through which the supply of ammunition to terrorists from Iraq was carried out. Just one aircraft, at the first attempt, destroyed it," TASS quoted Sablin as saying.
