Delegations from Russia, Turkey and Iran are holding consultations during the eighth round of talks on the Syrian settlement in Astana, the media reports.
The eighth round of talks will take place on December 21-22. Bilateral and trilateral expert meetings are scheduled for December 21, while the plenary session of the Astana talks will take place on December 22.
The Russian delegation is headed by Russian Special Presidential Representative for Syria Alexander Lavrentyev, the Turkish delegation by Turkish Foreign Ministry Deputy Undersecretary Sedat Onal and the Iranian delegation by Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Jaberi Ansari.
The delegations of the Syrian government and the Syrian opposition, the UN and the observer states, namely, the US and Jordan, will take part in the upcoming meeting too.
