At least 30 injured following explosion at Paris festival

At least 30 people have been left injured following an explosion at a busy carnival in France. The blast took place at the Yellow Carnival in Villepinte, Paris, this afternoon, Metro reports.

The explosion has been ruled as ‘accidental’ and is not terror related, authorities stated.

Four people have serious injuries.

A fire reportedly started after a statue was set alight during a Caribbean dance event. Pictures taken of the incident show flames and plumes of smoke rising into the sky.

Emergency services remain at the scene.
