Kyrgyzstan will strengthen the fight against terrorism and extremism, Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev said during the celebrations of the country's Independence Day.
According to him, it is becoming the most important task of strengthening the state and national security in the light of recent events.
The special operation against members of the Islamic State group, which was carried out recently in Bishkek by the State Committee of National Security, indicates the need for strengthening the fight against terrorism and extremism.
"It shows very clearly that the country's hard-won stability is still fragile," TASS cited the head of state as saying.
According to Atambayev, the penetration of supporters of international terrorist organizations into the territory of the country should "serve as a warning" to all residents of Kyrgyzstan.
