Former president of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev will be kept in custody until October 26, his attorney Sergey Slesarev said.
The decision was made by the Pervomay district court during an on-site hearing at the National Security Committee building on August 20, AKIpress reported.
Atambayev was arrested on August 8. The Prosecutor General's Office charged Atambayev with use of violence against law enforcement officials; organizing mass riots; organization of the murder; organizing attempted murder; organizing hostage-taking. On August 14, the Military Prosecutor's Office charged Atambayev with illegal transfer of ownership of the Forum building and modernization of the Bishkek CHPP.
The Kyrgyz Parliament stripped Atambayev of his immunity from prosecution on June 27.
