The atmosphere is very good at the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships in Baku, German gymnast Noemi Peschel said in an interview with the Vestnik Kavkaz correspondent after qualifying group exercises with five balls, three hoops and two pairs of clubs.

“It feels like at home. We were here a month or two ago. Everything was very well organized, people are very friendly. I like to perform here,” the athlete noted.

She also said that she really liked the Azerbaijani cuisine. “We are gymnasts, so we can’t eat too much, but I really liked what I tried,” Noemi Peschel underlined.

This week, on September 16-22, the 37th World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships is held at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku. The tournament is the qualification competition for the 32nd Olympic Games in Tokyo. More than 300 gymnasts from 61 countries are competing for nine sets of medals. The motto of the tournament is “Fairy tales will come to life”.
