Spectators of European Games boo biased judges

The head of the Rhythmic Gymnastics Technical Committee, Heide Bruneder, was booed by Azerbaijani fans at the National Gymnastics Arena at the First European Games in Baku today.

The incident occurred during the ceremony of presentation of medals in individual hoop exercises in rhythmic gymnastics. Bruneder awarded medals under incessant whistling from the stands.

The spectators were expressing their dissatisfaction with biased refereeing against Azerbaijani gymnast Marina Durunda.

Azerbaijani gymnast Marina Durunda took fifth place, gaining 17.8 points (difficulty score 8.8 and execution score 9).
