Australia celebrates anniversary of Azerbaijan's independence

Australia's city of Perth held an event dedicated to 25th anniversary of Azerbaijan's independence, the Milli Majlis said.

It is reported that the celebration was organized by the Azerbaijan-Australia friendship group.

The former head of the Azerbaijan-Australia inter-parliamentary working group,  Luke Simpkins, said that Australia recognized the independence of Azerbaijan on December 26, 1991.

The Azerbaijani ambassador to Australia, Rovshan Jamshidov, in turn, stressed the importance of expanding the Azerbaijani-Australian relations in all the spheres.

The Chairman of the International and Inter-Parliamentary Relations Committee of Milli Majlis, Samad Seyidov, noted Azerbaijan's success in the international arena. He stressed that all the international organizations support the principle of territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and condemns Armenia's aggressive actions, "Interfax-Azerbaijan reports.
