Australian Foreign Ministry: EU air strikes against IS would end crisis

Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop has urged European countries to join the coalition and begin air strikes against the Islamic State group in Syria and Iraq.

She believes that it would help to end the crisis and will slow the flow of asylum seekers who are flooding the European Union.

Australia had not been involved in bombing in the Middle East, but a week ago the United States formally asked it to join the coalition. Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott said that the United States will receive an official response within a two weeks, TASS reports.
