Azerbaijan has accepted the proposal of Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) to become an observer at this organization, the press service of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic reported.
"The leadership of the organization has repeatedly offered Azerbaijan to join its work. After lengthy negotiations, the Azerbaijani side has considered it appropriate to take part in the Forum of Gas Exporting Countries with observer status and has given its consent to it. The other day, the third gas summit of GECF will be held, at which Azerbaijan will be represented by Minister of Energy Natig Aliyev", - Sputnik Azerbaijan cites the report.
At the same time, It does not specify when exactly the republic will be awarded with this status.
