A Memorandum of Understanding on Strategic Partnership in the field of energy between the European Union represented by the European Commission and the Republic of Azerbaijan has been signed between Azerbaijan and the European Union on July 18.
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen inked the document.
Today’s memorandum actually is a kind of a road map for the future, Ilham Aliyev said. "We are working right now on a new bilateral agreement that we hope to conclude soon," the head of state added.
Ursula von der Leyen said that they will double the supply of gas from Azerbaijan to the European Union.
