Azerbaijan was elected member of the Executive Council of theOrganisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) in 2017-2019, OPCW Director-General Ahmet Üzümcü said at the meeting with Azerbaijan's Chargé d'Affaires in Kingdom of the Netherlands and OPCW, Jalal Mirzoyev.
According to him, this testifies to the growth of Azerbaijan's image in international organizations.
Jalal Mirzoyev, in turn, pointed out that the fact that OPCW was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2013 is a clear example of this organization's contribution to the preservation of peace and security.
In addition, the sides reached an agreement on the steps to be taken on the proposal of Azerbaijani specialists to the OPCW, the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said.
