Azerbaijan on Tuesday relaxed its COVID-19 pandemic-related restriction after months, assistant to the President of Azerbaijan - head of the Department for Economic Affairs and Policy of Innovative Development of the Presidential Administration Shahmar Movsumov said at a briefing of the Operational Headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers.
According to him, this step was taken due to the fact that recently there has been a positive trend in connection with the coronavirus pandemic in Azerbaijan.
First, the wearing of medical masks in the open air will be canceled in Azerbaijan since May 31. The operations of Baku Metro will be also allowed starting May 31, as well as bus service between the regions of Azerbaijan.
Large shopping centers will reopen in Azerbaijan from June 10.
Beaches will be opened in Azerbaijan from June 10. The beaches will be subject to the rules that were introduced last year.
The functioning of places of worship resumes in Azerbaijan from June 10. The work of these places will be allowed in accordance with certain restrictions and quarantine rules.
Gyms will reopen in Azerbaijan from June 10. Movsumov said that citizens with a COVID passport will be able to visit the gyms.
"In the future, persons with the COVID passports will be able to attend other venues - concerts, theaters, cinemas, weddings, and other celebrations," the official added.
Head of the Department of Prevention and Control of Diseases of the Management Union of Medical Territorial Units (TABIB) Yagut Garayeva said during the briefing that the COVID-19 cases have decreased to 3% in Azerbaijan in recent days.
