An armed incident took place on the Iran-Azerbaijan border, the Azerbaijan interior ministry said.
The representatives of the Regional Department of the Main Office on Combating Drugs and State Border Service of Azerbaijan prevented an attempt in the territory of the Jalilabad district to illegally cross the state border of Azerbaijan from the territory of Iran.
Some 4 kilograms 425 grams of opium were found and seized as a result of the inspection, Trend reports.
