Azerbaijan may become one of the main buyers of Russian gas outside the European Union, abc.az reports.
President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) Rovnag Abdullayev has stated that Azerbaijan has already submitted the relevant proposal to Gazprom.
"Speech is of 3-5 bn cu m of gas a year. We are waiting for their response. The ball is on their side," he added.
According to Abdullayev, the main part of this gas will be pumped into underground gas storages in Azerbaijan.
