Azerbaijan suspends issuance of foreign currency loans

Azerbaijani banks suspended the issuance of consumer loans in foreign currency today, the Financial Market Supervisory Body of Azerbaijan said.

The decision to set new regulatory frameworks within a month was made during the meeting of the Supervisory Body to ensure the financial stability and protect the consumer rights.

The Financial Market Supervisory Body retains the right to prolong this period.
