Azerbaijan has terminated its participation in the international tourism exhibition in Berlin early. This was reported in a press release from the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Germany, released last night, the head of the European bureau of Vestnik Kavkaza Orhan Sattorov reports.
The text of the statement noted that the Armenian side is abusing the peaceful tourist exhibition for the purpose of propaganda in favor of its occupation policy, which contradicts international law. For example, the exhibition company the Armenia and Caucasus Tourism Development Company has distributed materials promoting the so-called Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh. The Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan reminds that the secessionist entity is not recognized either by the UN or the German government.
A similar action was undertaken by the Armenian side once in 2009. After that, ITB administration made efforts to prevent such provocations in the future, which ensured the successful participation of Azerbaijan in the tourism platform for many years, until this year.
