Azerbaijan must expand credit unions network, chairman of the board of the Credit Unions Association of Azerbaijan Jalil Suleymanov said.
"We have already appealed to the government with the request to help expand credit unions network. Considering the fact that the government pays great attention to the development of agricultural sector of the country, it would be better to expand our network. Credit unions are pretty common in the international practice, including in neighboring Turkey," he noted.
According to him, today there are about 100 credit unions in Azerbaijan. About 70 of them are members of the association, 68 of them are actively functioning.
