Azerbaijani athletes took the first place in the final of aerodance competitions at FIG European Aerobic Gymnastics Championships in Baku. They got 17.8 points. Members of the Azerbaijani aerodance team are Aykhan Akhmedli, Balakhanym Akhmedova, Narmina Huseynova, Nigyar Ibrahimbeyli, Imran Imranov, Akif Kyarimli, Elchin Mamedov, and Medina Mustafayeva, a Vestnik Kavkaza correspondent reports.
The second place was taken by Russia. The Russian gymnasts got 17.75 points. Roman athletes won bronze medals (17.4 points).
The National Gymnastics Arena in Baku welcomes FIG European Aerobic Gymnastics Championships for the first time. Athletes from 22 countries participate in the tournament. Juniors and seniors perform in individual exercises among men and women, mixed pairs, trio and groups, aerodance, as well as aerostep – only for seniors. There will also be winners in junior and senior team ratings. Athletes will compete for 15 sets of medals.
