The Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan refuted disinformation spread by Armenia on social networks that the Azerbaijan Armed Forces allegedly subjected to fire a civilian convoy moving through the Lachin road while being accompanied by the Russian peacekeepers.

"The information disseminated on some Armenian social media networks that the Azerbaijan Armed Forces allegedly subjected to fire a civilian convoy moving through the Lachin road while being accompanied by the Russian peacekeeping contingent is baseless and disinformation. We categorically deny the unfounded claim," the Defense Ministry stated.

The ministry also stressed that information spread in the Armenian media that the Azerbaijan Armed Forces allegedly subjected to fire the Aghdara settlement has no real basis and is completely false.

"We categorically deny the next disinformation disseminated by the opposing side," the Defense Ministry of Azerbaijan said.

Previously, supporters of the Karabakh occupation spread disinformation about the alleged use of attack UAVs and the alleged shelling of an ambulance.

Anti-terrorist operation in Karabakh

The local anti-terrorist activities of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan have been launched to restore the constitutional order in the entire territory of the Karabakh Economic Region. The civilian population and civilian infrastructure are not targets, only legitimate military targets of the Armenian Armed Forces are taken out of action.

The anti-terrorist operation will make it possible to ensure the rovisions of the Trilateral Statement signed on 9-10 November 2020, supress military provocations, sabotage and terrorist attacks in the Karabakh Economic Region, secure the withdrawal of formations of Armenia’s armed forces from Azerbaijan, and thereby provide the safety of the civilian population and restoration work in the region.
