Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with the head of the State of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry's press service reported.

The parties discussed the issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation, including the current situation in the South Caucasus and the Middle East.

Abbas expressed admiration for the broad agenda of the Azerbaijani-Palestinian cooperation, mutual support and solidarity within international organizations. He noted that Azerbaijan's chairmanship of the Non-Aligned Movement deserves words of gratitude.

In turn, Bayramov recalled the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Palestine last year. He stressed that bilateral ties strengthened friendship, common values and solidarity. The minister assured that the appearance of Azerbaijan's diplomatic mission in Palestine would be a catalyst for the acceleration of the bilateral relations' development.

In addition to this, the Foreign Minister reported on the current situation in the South Caucasus. He spoke about the measures taken by Baku to ensure the return of temporarily displaced people to their homelands, the situation in the region after the 44-day War, as well as the provocative actions of the Yerevan side, which, as Bayramov added, did not fulfill its obligations and hindered the peace process.

In addition to this, the parties exchanged views on other issues that were of mutual interest today.
