Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry: Armenia's goal is to maintain status quo in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict

The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has commented on instances of violation of the ceasefire on the contact line of troops during the Nowruz and Easter holidays. According to the official representative of the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan, Hikmet Hajiyev, the presence of the armed forces of Armenia on the occupied Azerbaijani lands has led to increased tension in the conflict zone.

"Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman Andrzej Kasprzyk, the personal representative of the OSCE chairmanship country of Germany and the co-chairs of the Minsk Group made statements on March 18th and 21st on the observance of the ceasefire during the holidays of Nowruz and Easter. The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry, in accordance with the spirit of the holidays, immediately responded positively to the call of the personal representative of the OSCE chairman," Hajiyev said.
