The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has published a statement in which it commented on the words of the US State Department's Deputy Spokesperson Jalina Porter on the situation in Karabakh.
"In connection with the statements of Jalina Porter, Deputy Spokesperson of the US State Department, about the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan, made during the meeting with media representatives on March 25, 2022, we inform you that over the past years, the United States, as a co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, has not taken any effective steps to put an end to the almost 30-year-old military aggression of Armenia against Azerbaijan", the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The ministry reminded that Azerbaijan restored its territorial integrity on the basis of international law and ensured the implementation of UN Security Council resolutions. The Foreign Ministry also drew attention to the fact that the concept of "Nagorno-Karabakh" no longer exists.
"The East Zangezur and Karabakh economic regions are an integral part of the territory of Azerbaijan. The statement of the US State Department's representative, made on the basis of fake Armenian propaganda, is irresponsible behavior", the statement said.
In addition to this, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry stressed that the republic operates on its sovereign territories.
