Azerbaijan's Parliament adopted amendments to the law on state service aimed at ensuring the activities of First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva.
These amendments are necessary to determine the status, provision and classification of civil servants who are in the service of the First Vice-President.
The adopted amendments envisage the creation of new structures in the public administration system, including administrative and auxiliary posts, Interfax-Azerbaijan notes.
The list of administrative posts includes: a head of the body directly providing the activities of the President, a head of the structural unit directly providing the activities of the first vice-president of Azerbaijan, advisers in the body directly providing the activities of the Azerbaijani President.
The auxiliary posts include: a deputy head of the body directly providing the activities of the President, a deputy head of the structural unit directly providing the activities of the first vice-president of Azerbaijan, as well as an assistant of the first vice-president of Azerbaijan.
In February 2017, Mehriban Aliyeva was appointed the first vice-president of Azerbaijan.
