Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has sent a letter of condolences to President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hassan Rouhani.
"I was deeply saddened by the news of heavy casualties as a result of an explosion in a coal mine in Golestan province," the President said in the message, published on his website.
On the occasion of the tragedy, on behalf of the people of Azerbaijan and on his own behalf, Ilham Aliyev extended his deepest condolences to Hassan Rouhani, families and loved ones of those who died and the whole people of Iran and wish those injured the soonest possible recovery.
