Azerbaijan’s banking sector is ready to begin expansion in Iran.
Following the recent visit to Iran, Economy Minister Shahin Mustafayev has stated that Iran and Azerbaijan have launched negotiations on the establishment of the legal regime in the banking sector, abc.az reports.
"This regime will enable to improve the current status of Azerbaijan-based branch of Bank Milli Iran and also to open a branch of one of Azerbaijani banks in Iran," the minister said.
What bank will open a branch in Iran is still a subject of debate.
